Every four to five years I need to see an optometrist and get new glasses. Needing a doctor on our new plan (fourth in five years) I searched the insurance website and chose a doctor near me. I chose Dr. Lianne Pino of Exceptional Vision one of the only ones with a website. I have a “thing” about things being in/near/around my eyes. It’s not as bad as my “see a needle, pass out” thing but its bad enough that I can’t even think about getting contacts. Anyways, the doc was friendly and put up with my steady stream of “nervousness” jokes. The outcome of the eye test, which I failed J, was that my eyesight hasn’t deteriorated much over the past five years. But oddly enough my left eye got worse. Maybe that’s my tribute to Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez. After the test, Lucy and I set out to pick out a pair of frames. This turned out to be a far more daunting task then it sounds. Since my eyes are so bad I couldn’t really see any of the frames. So Lucy whipped out my Motorola MPx 220 cameraphone and started to take pics of the frames on me. I finally selected a pair with clip-on shaded and a pair of Nike sunglasses for when I’m running.
Update: *Sigh* That was short lived. I just got a call from Dr. Pino who informed me that the Nike frames would give me tunnel vision due to my prescription and the wrap around lenses. Oh well, I'll pick another pair next week.
