Now Playing

Here’s a rundown of what I’m playing: XboxNow Playing:Lego Star Wars – This is a really cool game. You play the first three Star Wars episodes as Lego characters in a Lego Star Wars universe. Lucy and I are playing this one together (she won’t let me play it without her) and we’re having loads of fun. On Deck:X-Men Legends – I stopped playing this one to start Halo 2. As an X-Men fanboy it’s great to play comic versions of my favorite superhero team. It has gotten a bit repetitive but I haven’t given up on the title yet.Burnout 3 –...

Defender

I am a Defender-ship.I am fiercely protective of my friends and loved ones, and unforgiving of any who would hurt them. Speed and foresight are my strengths, at the cost of a little clumsiness. I'm most comfortable with a few friends, but sometimes particularly enjoy spending time in larger groups. What Video Game Character Are You? This is so true it's scary.

ROTS Easter Eggs

So you’ve seen Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith and you want to go back and look for all the nuances. Luckily for us StarWars.com has made an easter egg list available. See the Millennium Falcon, Mon Mothma and the boxing clone trooper on the big screen for the first, er, last time. Via Movie Blog.

And now a PSA for our Halo 2 fans.

I gotta post this one. This video, cleverly disgisued as as 1950’s public service announcement, shows the uninitiated how to play Halo 2 on XBox Live. If you have never played on Xbox Live this will make no sense whatsoever but if you have be prepared to urinate in your pants. Via Joystiq.

Lucky bastard reports on E3

My boy J writes on his E3 experience. I’m sensing some crazy jealousy on my part. He talks about how he was impressed with the number of Nintendo DS games that will be made available. That’s surprising. I, like J, thought that the DS was going to crash and burn. I’m not conceding that I was wrong but let’s not forget that the DS doesn’t have a system selling title…yet. I need E3 pics J, pics!

Three Hundred

No fanfare. No witty retrospectives. No hoopla. I would like to use this milestone to announce the following:

Ten Hut! Major Nelson on deck!

PS3 or Xbox 360? I think this question is for the sages. My official response is idunno. In the end it’s all about the games. In the beginning it’s all about the hardware. Major Nelson, who works on the XBox team breaks down the PS3 and Xbox 360 specs and compares them in four parts (part one, part two, part three, part four). Great read but we still won’t really know until the hardware has been released. Via Scoble Now Playing: Third Day - 40 Days

Sex offenders in the Village?

You spend four years and mortgage your financial future to attend a private college (Da U!). You study your butt off at this scholastic intuition to receive good grades. Because of your hard work you get a great job doing something that you love. You get married and mortgage your children’s financial future to buy a house in a good neighborhood with good schools. Then you find out that you’ve moved into a neighborhood with one hundred thirty-five sexual predators! That’s right one hundred thirty-five. Thanks to our great state of Florida I now know that I live within...

Great Toon

I just ran across a pretty good cartoon strip called The Joy of Tech. This one is so funny on so many levels. Geez, am I a geek or what. Oooo and it has an RSS feed. Subscribed! Via Scoble.

NES on GBA

Here’s something cool. PocketNES is a Nintendo Entertainment System emulator for the Game Boy Advance. All you need is to load a GBA flash cartridge with NES roms and let ‘er rip. Ok maybe it’s not that easy but you get the picture. For more information on NES Emulation on the GBA check out Gameboy-Advance.net.

E3 and the future?

Thousands of lucky bastards (damn you J) have converged on Los Angeles for the world’s largest gaming show, E3. This week Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft all have announced new game consoles. Here’s a recap of what’s happened. Microsoft announced the XBox 360 with major fanfare. Microsoft unveiled the new Xbox on MTV last week with a crappy infomercial. At E3, MS talked about the upgrades to XBox Live and the new games for the 360. Connectivity with other gamers looks to be what they are going to focus the 360 now. Overall, the new XBox looks great and is a logical...

A new Star Wars movie and Lucas didn't create it!

I caught this one during my lunch, Star Wars Revelations. Star Wars Revelations is a forty minute fan film with phenomenal special effects. It takes place between episodes three and four and tells the story on how the rebellion was created. Overall, I really liked it. It could use better acting and a tighter script but you’ve got to hand it to the creators, they’ve done a lot with nothing. So check this one out, it’s worth it.

Home Improvements

Lucy and I will be embarking on some home renovations very shortly. So I’ve been browsing around for some help in doing some of the improvements ourselves and I ran across a couple of sites that have free videos. The first is from the grandfather of do-it-yourself Bob Villa. BobVilla.com has tons of videos showing how to do this or that. I searched for drywall and 27 videos were returned. Impressive. Also, HomeDepot.com has some videos from Bob’s old show, This Old House. Check it out.Now Playing: 12 Stones - Back Up

Windows Mobile 5.0 Unveiled

Microsoft has announced the next version of Windows Mobile and it’s not called “Windows Mobile 2005”. The official name will be “Windows Mobile 5.0”. I’ll never understand why MS marketing has to continually change the names of their products. How can you present a stable brand when the name changes with each version? Anyways, here is the feature list courtesy of Engadget. This sounds like a great release for developers. ·         New mobile versions of Word Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile Viewer, and Excel Mobile. ·         Improved one-handed navigation so you don’t have to use a stylus. ·         A new camera API that’ll make it...

Shoe Reviews

For a while I was a big Kicksology fan. Last year, when I heard that the site was going to be shut down I was disheartened. Nobody reviewed a shoe like Professor K. Nobody. (He's still reviewing shoes for Sole Collector magazine. But not nearly the amount of reviews he was doing.) So when I need to buy a new shoe I needed a new site. Since Kicksology was unmatched here are a few sites where shoe reviews can be found. KicksGuide.comNikeTalk.com If you need to find older/sold out kicks try PickYourShoes.com or InStyleShoes.com. The best and worst of Star Wars video games

1UP.com has an article pointing out the best and worst Star Wars games of all time. I agree with most of their picks like X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Knights of the Old Republic and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. These were great games that sucked up loads of my time during college. This leads me to a game that they mentioned as the worst (and only) Star Wars fighting game Masters of Teras Kasi. Granted, it wasn’t the best fighting game I’ve ever played (Soul Calibur) but it’s not the worst. In fact I’ve had loads of fun playing...

Kevin Smith on Revenge of the Sith

Everyone knows that Kevin Smith is a huge Star Wars fan. I guess being such a big fan and a high profile has its advantages. Apparently, he has seen Revenge of the Sith and has openly discussed it. I don’t know his feelings on the first two prequels but after reading his comments on the third my excitement level just jumped to 9.5. "Revenge of the Sith" is, quite simply, awesome. This is the "Star Wars" prequel the haters have been bitching for since "Menace" came out, and if they don't cop to that when they finally see it, they're...

The Rogers Indicator of Multiple Intelligence

I don't really know what to think about this quiz or how it determines its results. It's an interesting quiz nonetheless. Well, maybe not interesting let's go with full of crap. You scored as Intrapersonal. You prefer your own inner world, you like to be alone, and you are aware of your own strengths, weaknesses, and feelings. You learn best by engaging in independent study projects rather than working on group projects. People like you include entrepreneurs, philosophers and psychologists. Two Months and Out

Last Wednesday was my last physical therapy appointment. I’m now officially fixed. My knee is still hurts occasionally but it’s not bad. I would like to thank Bruce Wilk and everybody at Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialists for their help with my rehab. On a related note, I will begin training with the Miami Runners Club tomorrow. We’ll see how that goes…without a knee brace. Now Playing: Heavy D & The Boyz - Gyrlz, They Love Me
