Vader's Hidden Talent

I always thought there was something missing from Star Wars. Something that was cut. Watch and learn. Spoiler alert! Actually, this is just for Berch. It ruins the end of Star Wars don't watch this! Yes, he hasn't seen Star Wars and yes we're gonna fix that.

I give you Snake Eyes

When I was a kid I love G.I. Joe. I had the figures, read the comic and watched the cartoon. So when this shows up in my Google Reader via /Film I just had to post it. How awesome does Ray Park aka Darth Maul look as Snake Eyes? My mind has just been blown.

Napoleon Dynamite In Halo

Even though I thought Napoleon Dynamite was a sub par movie it did have its moments of genius. One of those moments is recreated in the Xbox best game Halo 2. Click and enjoy. Via XBox360Fanboy.

Gnarles Barkley + Star Wars = Freakin Awesome.

I caught this performance by newcomer Gnarles Barkley during the MTV Movie Awards on Thursday night. Gnarles Barkey is the collaboration between DJ Danger Mouse whose Grey Album mixed Jay-Z's Black Album with the Beatles White Album and Cee-Lo a veteran songwriter/producer/singer. What made this performance memorable was that each of the performers were wearing Star Wars costumes. Vader, rebel pilots, Imperial commanders, Jango Fett, a Jedi Knight and yes a Wookie were represented in the one song set. It was an impressive scene. You can see it for yourself below. Via Digg.

What do you mean they blew up the Death Star

I just caught two minutes and twenty-seven seconds of pure comic genius. If you have no idea what I’m talking about watch this video, I’ll wait. Do, det do, dum, dum, do tee do. What? Back already? So what did you think? Watching Palpatine berating Vader is funny as hell. I still haven’t stop laughing. From what I understand the short comes from a show called Robot Chicken. That's the show Lisa keeps ranting about. I'm going to have to check it out...when I stop laughing. Via The Movie Blog. Mad Crazy Update: Voltron gets served on Robot Chicken. That's it. TiVo is going to pick up this...

It's going to be a fun summer

The new Superman Returns trailer has just been released. And I must say it is pretty cool even though Superman isn’t. I mean really, he’s a complete idiot. Batman has his playboy darkness. Spidey has the everyman thing going. The X-Men has the teen angst stuff. Wonder Woman has her butt kicking womanliness. Superman has the strength, the indestructibleness and the brain of a two year old. Just look at Smallville. How many of you would break up with Kristen Kreuk? That’s right NOBODY. Of course our village idiot, Clark Kent, does. At least Supes married Teri Hatcher in Lois...

Darth Maul vs. Obi-Wan? Nope. Ryan vs. Dorkman!

I just ran across this Star Wars fan film today which stars two guys in one of the most incredible lightsaber battles I’ve ever seen. This isn’t your run of the mill minute and a half sequence this runs over five minutes long! If you loved the final lightsaber sequence at the end of the Phantom Menace check this vid out. A turnaround? X-Men 3 trailer hits the web.

Over the past year or so we’ve been getting information on X-Men 3 and it’s been less than flattering. News of David Singer going to Superman Returns (instead of Kevin Smith who discusses his Superman experience in this video), a cavalcade of new characters (Gambit, Juggernaut, Kitty Pride, Angel, Moria MacTaggert, Psylocke, Beast, Jamie Madrox, Callisto), and a lack of Nightcrawler all pointed to X-Men 3 sucking hard. Admittedly, there was some good news coming out of the X3 camp. The biggest one was that the Dark Phoenix was to make her appearance. Those of you who haven’t heard of...

Do my eyes deceive me? Spidey in black for Spider-man 3!!!

I’m officially psyched for the rest of the day. The Movie Blog linked to the official Spider-Man movie site which revealed that Spidey will be wearing a black costume in Spider-man 3! Ah, the memories of my youth reading Spider-Man comics with the black costume. What was creepier than those white eyes and spider logo peering out of the darkness? Or better yet, crawling out of his own grave?  It’s a hell of a lot better than that Iron Spider costume that Marvel revealed earlier this month. Eeek. Yes, this poster will be in one of our lightboxes sometime this...

A NASCAR movie that might be worth seeing

I’m not a Will Ferrell fan at all but his new film Talladega Nights might just convert me. The trailer has just hit the web and I still haven’t stopped laughing. “Help me Tom Cruise!” Via The Movie Blog.

How a movie theater makes ca$h

I ran across this post on digg describing how a movie theater makes money. It’s an interesting racket. “Edward Jay Epstein has written a brief article looking at just how the theaters make their money. As you might expect, it's not from begging, or charity. No, theaters have three major sources of revenue: the movies themselves, their concessions, and more recently, their onscreen advertisements. The concessions are a cash cow, and everyone knows it. The only other places on earth where prices are this ridiculous are airports, theme parks and four star hotels.”   Now Playing: No Doubt - Hella...

A Steve Taylor Movie? Tru.

Looks like Steve Taylor, one of my favorite artists, has gotten into directing. His first motion picture, The Second Chance, stars Michael W. Smith and is about “how a rebellious son and a street-smart pastor struggle to bridge the gap between their respective churches and cultures”. Sounds interesting. The trailer is up on the site and it’s not bad. Via The Phantom Tollbooth.

Two juicy new trailers with creamy filling!

This summer is looking to be a great season for movies. I caught the teaser for Superman Returns during Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire over the weekend and I must say my excitement for the film jumped a few spots. I also just saw the teaser for Cars, the latest film from Pixar upon the recommendation from the guys over at The Movie Blog. Talk about a studio that can do no wrong. Cars looks to improve upon The Incredibles. Is that even possible? Now Playing: The Movie Blog - AudioEditionVol79

King Kong trailer available

The new King Kong trailer is now available.  I’m not a big fan of the story or of the fact that this movie will be THREE HOURS LONG. But the trailer has some incredible special effects such as Kong vs. a T-Rex. I probably won’t be seeing this one in the theaters but who knows? Peter Jackson is still the director and we all know how good he is at adapting stories for the big screen. Via Ain’t It Cool News.

Into the mind of Joss Whedon

There is an excellent interview with Buffy/Angel/Firefly mastermind Joss Whedon at In Focus magazine. The interview sheds light on Joss’ work in Toy Story, Alien 4, Speed, the new Wonder Woman film and of course the follow up to his Firefly series, Serenity (opens on September 30th).  It’s a fascinating look into one of the most creative minds in Hollywood. “This summer’s sold-out hit-and-run public screenings of an almost-finished “Serenity” – I count 65 such screenings so far – appear to be wholly unique in the annals of motion picture exhibition. Is it safe to say you’re encouraged that so many thousands...

ROTS Easter Eggs

So you’ve seen Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith and you want to go back and look for all the nuances. Luckily for us StarWars.com has made an easter egg list available. See the Millennium Falcon, Mon Mothma and the boxing clone trooper on the big screen for the first, er, last time. Via Movie Blog.

A new Star Wars movie and Lucas didn't create it!

I caught this one during my lunch, Star Wars Revelations. Star Wars Revelations is a forty minute fan film with phenomenal special effects. It takes place between episodes three and four and tells the story on how the rebellion was created. Overall, I really liked it. It could use better acting and a tighter script but you’ve got to hand it to the creators, they’ve done a lot with nothing. So check this one out, it’s worth it.

Kevin Smith on Revenge of the Sith

Everyone knows that Kevin Smith is a huge Star Wars fan. I guess being such a big fan and a high profile has its advantages. Apparently, he has seen Revenge of the Sith and has openly discussed it. I don’t know his feelings on the first two prequels but after reading his comments on the third my excitement level just jumped to 9.5. "Revenge of the Sith" is, quite simply, awesome. This is the "Star Wars" prequel the haters have been bitching for since "Menace" came out, and if they don't cop to that when they finally see it, they're...
